The Nikon Z mount is one of the largest (55mm diameter) with the shortest distance to the sensor (16mm) for any of the common ILC choices. What that means is that pretty much any lens with a smaller diameter or longer flange distance can be adapted to the Z mount.
Nikon used this flexibility to make an accessory called the FTZ Adapter, which allows almost any F-mount lens Nikon has made to be used on the Z cameras.
