New Photo Shows Lens Sizes

bythom nikkorz late2020

The sizes of a lot of upcoming Nikkor lenses has been revealed in the latest posts on Nikon-owned sites. A few interesting things to note:

  • The 28mm and 40mm compact lenses are indeed compact, coming in somewhere between the collapsed 16-50mm DX and 24-50mm FX. Likewise, the 50mm Micro is also pretty compact.
  • The 85mm (likely f/1.2) is the new "fat boy." Shorter than the 50mm f/1.2 but wider in diameter.
  • The 100-400mm (likely f/4.5-6.3) is basically the same size as the 70-200mm f/2.8.
  • The 24-105mm (likely f/2.8-4) is pretty close to the 24-200mm size.

Of course the upcoming long telephoto lenses are, well, long telephoto lenses. It's difficult to tell anything about them from their apparent size.
