On Tuesday I pushed the massive update to the Complete Guide to the Nikon Z9 (50+ new pages, new files). The emails for that come from an automated server, so please look in your Spam/Junk folder before sending me "I didn't receive it" messages. Also, I sent to two update emails. Only the second one has all the files that now go with the book.
So what did I update?
- Fixed all known errors in the book. Clarified language. Templated word usage better.
- Added all the C2.00 firmware changes, and updated screen shots.
- Updated the Settings spreadsheet with the C2.00 changes.
- Added new material in several places within the book, particularly in the autofocus section.
- Added a supplemental volume (.epub) that deals with things that don't have a good place in the main book.
- Added a Black 255 Picture Control and UNIWB file to the downloads (see supplemental volume on how to use them).
So here's the problem: too many of you are just mindlessly clicking on my update links from your iPhone or iPad. That's not going to work for many of the update files, and I've always suggested you don't download the book(s) directly to a phone or tablet, as if you don't know what you're doing you'll quickly lose the files because you didn't really save them. But also note that you can't "download" a Picture Control or NEF file into iOS or iPadOS Safari, so don't try, you'll just waste one of your downloads.
Please: Go to your computer, download all the files in that second email the server sent to your Downloads folder on your computer. Distribute those files to your other folders and devices as appropriate. To use the Black 255 and UNIWB file, you're going to have to read the Supplemental volume (which is an .epub file, not PDF; yes, you asked me to use .epub whenever possible).
I don't anticipate updating the Z9 book again in the near future. I'm shifting my work to other books at this point.
