First, a thank you. Site visits approached one million last month. This site has grown in popularity on a pretty constant basis since I launched it with the initial Z6 and Z7 models. It’s also grown enormously in the number of articles, reviews, and commentary that’s available. If you haven’t done a full pass through the menus recently, you might have missed a few things ;~).
In my annual review of site structure, I’ve decided to make a couple of changes to the site, particularly in the lenses section.
Now that Nikon has well over two dozen available Z-mount lenses (with more on the way), the menus on this site are starting to sprawl and go offscreen on a standard desktop display. I use a basic desktop window as my standard for the menu system because on smaller devices the responsive engine of the site kicks in and the menus compact into a single hamburger menu (three bars).
I’ve now split the current available lenses information into three sub-menus: FX zooms, FX primes, and DX lenses. I’ll likely be doing something similar for reviewed lenses soon. The goal is keep menu structure visible on a desktop, rather than having menu items and sub-menus scroll offscreen.
As usual in my once-a-year review, I’ve updated a few articles, fixed a few typos, updated a few graphics, added/fixed links, snuck in a few new comments, and tried to make sure all information on the site is as up-to-date as possible. Please let me know if there is anything I didn’t catch or you have suggestions for additions or changes to the site.
