ZF Firmware Update 3.00

Nikon today updated the Zf firmware to version 3.00, adding the following:

  • The promised Film grain options, which provide both size (3 sizes) and level (6 levels) control of the grain. This is outside the Picture Control, so is applied to any Picture Control you select. Grain is available for both stills and video.
  • C15 has been added to the Pre-release capture options.
  • Maximum aperture Lv, Focus limiter setting were added as new Custom Settings.
  • Self-timer, Custom controls (shooting), Custom controls, Focus peaking, and Grid type all get new options (to match latest other firmware updates).
  • Record camera orientation now has separate Photos and Video choices.
  • Hi-Res Zoom now shows focus points for detected subjects.
  • Automatic monitor display switch has been added to the SETUP menu.
  • USB streaming (UVC/UAC) has been added to USB in the NETWORK menu.

In addition, a number of other small changes were made that improve the functionality of the camera and fix known bugs.

As usual, the update can be downloaded from the Nikon Download Center (or via Nikon Imaging Cloud directly to the camera).
