The Firmware Update Details

Nikon today made the pre-announced firmware updates available to users, and in so doing, revealed more detail of what changed:

  • Z6 II 1.20 and Z7 II 1.20
    • Focus improved in three ways: low-light focus performance in AF-S mode improved; face/eye detection and subject tracking improved when using flash; and the viewfinder response in displaying face, eye, and subject tracking boxes improved.
    • Fixed three known bugs: AF-C set to Focus priority would sometimes slow shutter response; improved focus accuracy; and fixed a bug when using custom Picture Controls at 4K 50/60P.
  • Z5 1.10
    • Added Save Focus Position option.
    • Improved low-light focus detection when CSM #A11 is set.
  • Z6 3.30
    • Added Voice Memo option to movie record button customization.
    • Added Save Focus Position option.
    • Fixed an issue where camera would stop during time-lapse photography.
  • Z7 3.30
    • Added Save Focus Position option.
    • Fixed an issue where camera would stop during time-lapse photography.
  • Z50 2.10
    • Added Save Focus Position option.
    • Fixed an issue where CSM #A2 options were reset when U1 or U2 mode changes for Custom Settings were made.
